The Entertainment of Middle Ages

The prime source of entertainment in the Middle ages was festivals and banquets. People used to enjoy a lot of holidays apart from Sundays only. There used to be eight free weeks apart from Sundays in the entire year. Festivities like Christmas, Easter, May day, the ploughing day, Harvest day, first rain of the season, used to be celebrated like anything else throughout the year. For children, there used to be fairs where they could ride on different mechanical and innovative rides. Kids really used to enjoy their spare time by coming to such festivities and eating yummy food and ice cream. Some of the famous games of Middle ages are: Chess, Backgammon, Nine Men’s Morris, Hazard, Fox and Geese etc.
