Side Effects To Anxiety Medication

The side effects seen in users of anti anxiety medication are oversleeping, lethargy, fatigue, pain in the body and dry mouth etc. Anti anxiety medicines can be typed as; Benzodiazepines, beta blockers, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and tricyclic antidepressants. Benzodiazepines which work very fast and relief symptoms within one day have the most side effects.

The most common side effects of these drugs include sleepiness, depression, lethargy, fatigue, confusion, light headedness, less attention, disorientation, crying, headache, trembling, weakness, blurry image, changes in heart beat and skin rash etc. The beta blockers are prescribed to patients as they are helpful in curing the physical symptoms of anxiety. Their side effects comprise diarrhea, slow heart beat, impotency, rash and loss of sexual drive.
